I dated a
nerdy girl, made a
nerdy proposal to her, and
got married with enough nerdy touches to keep the geeky side of our personalities visible without overtaking the traditions of the ceremony itself. We're both creative sorts, and relished (and occasionally cursed) all the opportunities we had to inject our crafty, dorky ideas into the wedding and reception, generally at the last minute.
In order for anyone to enjoy our crafty, dorky ideas, we needed to ensure there would be guests present at the wedding. Combining my love of
Star Trek and puns with my now-wife's collection of Japanese manga and her Photoshopping know-how, we collaborated on this
Next Generation-themed invitation that would be sure to lure our friends and family (or scare them away):

Oh, we're just getting started. The story continues (or, rather,
begins) later this week in
Part 2.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-I see what you did there.
Nice invitation, Nathaniel. Gotta say, though, my friend wasn't quite sure of what to expect when he saw the title "The Next Phase". I did the -_- face for you, so that's okay, I guess.
Thanks--and I think you did the right thing. ;)
