Holy bazookas, Batman! Comic Con is only 10 days away! Didn't we just do our San Diego wrap-up post? Where does a year go?
Anyway, since the Big Show is right around the corner, I wanted to mention a couple of things. First, if you're planning to attend, please shoot us an email or leave a comment, because we'd love to hear from you.
While Nathaniel and I are (self proclaimed) Kings of the Dorks, neither of us has ever been to the San Diego show. And, being that I have problems with enormous crowds...it's pretty likely that I'll never attend a Comic Con as a fan.
Being that Ed Norton is now officially out as the Hulk in the upcoming Avengers movie, however, there is the slight chance that, once I am offered and humbly accept the role, I'll be heading out to the show to promote the film.
My own delusions aside, it would be greatly appreciated if anyone who is actually heading to the show writes in and tells us about the experience.
There's plenty of hype leading up to the event that's been lovingly referred to as "Dork Prom," not the least of which coming out of BOOM! Studios with their announcement that Stan Lee will be joining their stable of creators.
Because, really, at Comic Con, can anyone or anything top Stan Lee?
There's also talk of big movie news and reveals planned for the show, including speculation that Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures may announce who the villain for the next Batman film will be.
Eric Powell has said online that Goon fans will be very happy with what he's got planned, and many creators are busy gearing up for the madness of San Diego.
If you'd like to get a little taste of said madness, head on over to the show's official site, where they've just posted the Spring/Summer issue of their magazine, which, obviously, focuses on the upcoming show.
Check it out--there's some good stuff there.
As we do every year after the show has ended, we will live vicariously through people who were there by recapping the biggest stories of the show.
But for now, let the countdown begin!

Edward Norton being excluded from the Avengers movie really ticked me off; I thought he did a good job and I'm really tired of revolving-door casts.
I wasn't terribly fond of the new Hulk movie, and while Norton did fine, I wasn't so attached to him as Bruce Banner that the change, for a change, isn't going to bother me.
Usually I'm highly sensitive to cast changes, but I took it in stride when Rhoades was switched out in Iron Man 2; maybe it just comes with the comic book territory, but just as different artists and writers put their own spin on the characters from one issue to the next, somehow it's not such a big deal to me that different actors come and go in the Marvel movie universe.
Well, now it's becoming a bit of a snipe-fest between Norton's people and the Marvel Studios guys. The link in the post has a little on the feud, but it all just sounds like sour grapes to me.
I think you had an actor who wanted the role and a studio that wanted the actor to play the role, but for whatever reasons just couldn't come to an agreement.
It is a little ironic that, in a film franchise that is so dependent upon continuity (between movies and characters and stories) they've had to change actors a couple of times.
But that's to be expected, I guess.
